THINK OF IT AS GERMAN PHILOSOPHY IN ACTION

The essence of the philosophical trend initiated by Kant and brought to fruition by Hegel could be summed up in three words: Reality Is Unreal.

This notion allows an individual to dismiss truths and believe falsehoods.  For example Sandy Sheedy, a member of the Sacramento City Council, has publicly stated that it is possible to fire an unloaded gun.

No, seriously, she actually said it.

“There have been several people that have been shot by an unloaded gun.”

In practical effect a truth is held to be untrue and the impossible is deemed to be possible.

How can there be a reasoned debate on any issue when the opposing party has clearly renounced reality?
